My Little Puppy Review – An Emotional Adventure Every Dog Lover Should Experience

So this game was given to me by a friend who said I had to play it on stream—I couldn't just play it by myself. I was afraid it was either going to be something misleading or something emotional. It was definitely the latter.

This game was released on November 6, 2025, and was developed by Dreamotion Inc. and published by Dreamotion Inc. and KRAFTON. The game is currently available on Steam for $24.99, but the feels are worth it.

Steam describes the game as:

"There is a saying that when you depart from this world, the dog who went ahead will warmly welcome you. While spending time in dog heaven, Bong-gu the Welsh Corgi suddenly catches his dad's scent. Now, he embarks on a journey to meet his dad. Will Bong-gu be able to see his dad again?"

My Little Puppy is a story-driven adventure game with a single-player experience and Steam achievements. You play as Bong-gu, the Corgi, and, for brief moments, several other characters throughout the story.

My Little Puppy Gameplay and Features

If you like cute wiggle butts and a great story, this game will warm your heart. I had to stop myself from crying on stream more than a few times.

You start out helping what I believe is your angel guardian by gathering residents to throw a welcoming party for newcomers.

One of your main abilities is a sniff button that allows you to follow scent trails. The trail only appears for a short amount of time, but you can quickly press the button again to continue tracking it.

After finding everyone and completing tasks for them—such as digging through clouds to find a missing toy and running an obstacle course—you eventually gather everyone together for the party. There are a few touching reunions between pets and their owners, and that's that... until you catch a faint scent of your owner, your daddy.

From there, the entire game becomes an adventure centered around finding your daddy. I don't want to spoil too much, but I will mention that there are a lot of quick-time events where you'll need to press certain keys during cutscenes. There are also chase sequences from various camera angles, including side-scrolling sections and classic "running toward the screen" moments that reminded me of Crash Bandicoot.

There are even some sneaking sections—which everyone knows I'm terrible at—but I didn't do too badly this time.

My Little Puppy Review – Final Thoughts

This was a very emotional game. Some pet-and-owner stories had me questioning what happened, while others allowed you to experience their backstories firsthand. So be prepared to cry.

The controls weren't difficult to learn. I would recommend using a controller, although I played with a mouse and keyboard. The animation was adorable, and as a pet lover, I enjoyed seeing all the different dog breeds while trying to identify the ones I recognized.

The game currently has an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, with many reviews mentioning how much they cried, how beautiful the story is, and how it serves as a touching tribute for dog lovers.

This is absolutely a game I would recommend picking up. It's okay to cry.

While the game is fairly short, it still took me about five hours to complete. I only unlocked 12 of the 21 achievements, but since you can replay chapters individually, it's easy to go back and try to earn them all. (And honestly, I might be doing that.)

Is My Little Puppy Worth Playing?

Yes.

If you love dogs, emotional stories, story-driven adventure games, or games that focus on the bond between pets and their owners, My Little Puppy is worth your time. Just make sure you have some tissues nearby—you'll probably need them. 🐶💔
